FabFitFun Fall 2018 Box Review

FabFitFun is a seasonal subscription box service that sends over $200 worth of goodies right at your doorstep! These loaded, fantastic boxes are sporting a new design and the products are curated every season. One thing I love about the FabFitFun boxes is that, along with the products, included is a comprehensive magazine detailing all of the products within. It gives you insight about all the items you received, as well as how to use them. They really go the extra mile in regards to packaging.

Disclaimer: this FabFitFun box was sent to me for reviewing purposes. With that said, I choose not to sugarcoat any of my reviews, even if it results in the company cutting off ties with me. I review items and brands that I enjoy, but I also owe it to the reader to give my honest opinion.

GLAMGLOW Bubble Sheet Masks

A GLAMGLOW sheet mask? Yes please! This box was off to a great start. GLAMGLOW has been known for their charcoal masks and cleansers. They know masks, and this particular mask was blissful to use. It activates micro bubbles immediately and invigorates and detoxifies the skin. My face has never felt better. I received two of these masks, retailing at $18, which can be purchased here.

I was grateful to see a beautyblender in this box, as this is an item that I usually purchase for full price. This box continues on its promise of value. Who wouldn’t want another beautyblender? I like to use these to apply liquid foundation, concealer, and primer. Whenever I put on a full face of makeup, I immediately reach for my beautyblender. If that’s not an endorsement for a product then I don’t know what is. It blends everything seamlessly. I like to spray some of my Mario Badescu facial spray (not included) to it when applying my primer and foundation. A beautyblender retails at $20 and you can purchase one here.

Crown Brushes 6pc Limited Edition Essentials Brush Set

As my boyfriend will attest, I’m insane when it comes to brushes. I collect brushes like men who collect action figures. I’m always adding to my collection, chasing that endorphin rush that comes with finding that new, great brush. So I am beyond pleased that I received this Crown Brush set. These brushes are made of soft, synthetic bristles and are perfect for blending (perfect for that new beautyblender!) I have always preferred synthetic brushes over natural because I use a lot of liquid and cream products. These brushes also came in a beautiful, almost leather-like case to keep them nice and safe. It’s a nice touch. The quality on this set is top notch and a perfect addition to my collection. This brush set retails at $75 and you can purchase them here.

Catherine Malandrino Umbrella

I also received this Catherine Malandrino Umbrella and it is too cute. An umbrella definitely wasn’t something I ever expected to receive in a subscription box, but as per usual, FabFitFun continues to go the extra, if unconventional mile. I received the pink and white color (there is also a black and white) and it has a beautiful floral design. What I love about this umbrella is that it’s the perfect size; you can just throw it in your purse, briefcase, or laptop bag. It is also easy to use, which I love because I always find myself fumbling with umbrellas. I can actually shut this one! It opens at the push of a button. This umbrella retails at $40 and you can purchase it here.

Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream: Camellia, Geranium Blossom

This day cream is full of active ingredients like jojoba oil and rosehip oil, which helps improve hydration and soothe the skin. I have heard great things about this skin care brand and I am very excited to try it! While I’m trying to use everything in the box, the sheer amount of goodies is fighting me! When I’m able to use it I will come back and give my opinion. This day cream retails at $49 and you can purchase it here.

Farmacy Dew It All Off Total Eye Cream

I have only tried a few items from Farmacy and I have loved each one. They’re a luxury item for myself, and a damn fine one at that. It’s funny that this box is full of products I’ve been tempted to buy many times, almost as if FabFitFun has read my mind. The eye cream moisturizes and minimizes the signs of aging and stress, giving you a little fountain of youth. Who doesn’t need to lower their stress? I have been using it for two days now and although I haven’t had any visible results, my under eyes feel smooth and more refreshed.  It may be a placebo, it may be magic, but I can attest to it making you feel at ease. I can’t wait to watch this work magic on my dark circles. This eye cream retails at $38 and you can purchase it here.

SKIN&CO Roma Blue in Capri Shower Gel

Nope, not done yet. While any other box would’ve been done 3 items ago, FabFitFun continues to surprise me. The sheer amount of products is astonishing. And not just random, odd items, no, you’re getting your moneys worth here. Quality and quantity. I also received this SKIN&CO shower gel and it smells amazing. I wish everyone who reads this could smell what I’m smelling. It’s like a Yankee candle in liquid soap form. This shower gel is infused with wild sage, lemon, and alpine rose. I’ve been tempted to pour some in my morning coffee. This shower gel retails at $22 and you can purchase it here.

Alfred French Press Coffee Brewer

Annddd speaking of coffee, a coffee maker is also included. An actual, fully functioning coffee press was in this box. Seriously. This stainless steel coffee press is from a trendy new coffee shop, Alfred Coffee, located in Los Angeles, California. I am not much of a hot coffee person, so I honestly do not see myself using this. But that’s ok, because my boyfriend is. So I forced him to change up his routine of going to Starbucks ten times a day in order to use this. His response was what I expected: he enjoyed it. In his words, “It made good coffee but I’m too lazy to use it”. While a tad more complicated than a regular coffee maker, it produces a better version of coffee. It may not be the home run of the set for me, but for those who enjoy coffee, I think they owe it to themselves to give this press a chance. It has a very cute design and it is very sturdy. This coffee press retails at $22 and you can purchase it here.

Simply Whimsical Set of Two Tea Towels

Ok, out of everything in this box, which is a lot, these might be my favorite item. Well, at the very least it’s a tie with my new brushes. These tea towels have a playful gray pattern and are too cute. They’re towels, so there’s only so much one can say about them, but they’re pretty and feel comforting, if that makes any sense. They’re perfect for what they’re supposed to do. These tea towels retail at $15 and you can purchase them here

Ok, phew, that was a handful. I don’t think I’ve ever received this much in a box in all my other subscription boxes combined! It’s a ton. While it’s easy to say that the sheer amount of content you get is what makes this good, it’d be doing a disservice to FabFitFun. Many subscription boxes try to pad the items list with tiny trinkets you’d never use, or minuscule samples, just to make it look good. That is not the case here. You’re not getting samples with this Fall box. You’re getting full sized items; the same that you would buy in a store. And it gives you a reason to change things up and try those items you’re always looking at but never getting. I mean, if the umbrella and coffee press doesn’t catch your attention then I don’t know what to say. I can say, in the 4 years I’ve been being sent, purchasing, and reviewing boxes, this was the best. The only box in the same ballpark are the KitNip boxes, but those kind of require, ya know, a cat.
